Engine Failure Survey

We need your input…

UPAC is involved in Transport Canada’s General Aviation Safety Program’s Ultralight Working Group and has identified engine failure as the most common cause of ultralight accidents and incidents.

We know that not every engine failure is reported, especially if there is a successful forced landing with no damage to the plane or people. The Working Group would like to gather some of this information anonymously from you.

… and NO, TC is not trying to shut down Ultralights.

To that end, a Google survey has been created to anonymously collect data on engine failures and the causes that you’ve had over your flying time.

Please go to directly to and answer the questions.

A link to the survey has also been posted on the UPAC’s Facebook page

The survey deadline has been extended to Feb 28, 2022 to give us more time to collect the information
