Once I have an Ultralight Pilot Permit, do I ever need additional training or refresher courses?

Ultralight pilots must be both “Recent” & “Current”
– To be RECENT, in general, a pilot must act as pilot in command of an aeroplane within the preceding 5 years of the intended flight.
– To remain CURRENT, in general, a pilot must complete a training activity once every two years to stay up-to date.  Activities include:
-Attending a Transport Canada aviation safety seminar,
-Participating in a Transport Canada approved recurrent training program,
-Complete a flight review with an instructor,
-Complete a self paced study program (Issued by transport Canada). Pass the written exam for the permit or rating.
