Do I need a license or permit to fly an Ultralight in Canada?

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. In Canada you are required to have a “Pilot Permit Ultralight – Aeroplane” rating (ULP-A) as a minimum. A Recreational Pilot Permit – Aeroplane (RPP-A) or Private Pilot License – Aeroplane (PPL-A) will also qualify a pilot to fly an Ultralight Aeroplane in Canada.
