Gord grew up exposed to aviation at various RCAF/CAF bases. He joined the Air Cadets and earned both glider and power wings and then as a glider instructor. He built his first ultralight in his father’s garage a Challenger 2, and has subsequently rebuilt a Kitfox. On retirement from the Canadian Forces he built two ultralight replica warbirds, a World War 1 Nieuport biplane, and a P-40 Warhawk. He chaired the Kingston Ultralight Club for many years, and served as a UPAC Director. A current member of the Ultralight Working Group and UPAC representative on the West Coast
