    Tim,

It is unfortunate, but your Flight Instructor should be guiding you through this process and directing you to the sources you need to study.

Here are a few downloads from the Transport Canada website that should guide you:

Study and Reference Guide: Pilot Permit- Ultra-Light Aeroplane:
    https://www.tc.gc.ca/media/documents/ca-publications/TP_14453_e.pdf

Sample Examination: Pilot Permit- Ultra-Light Aeroplane:
    http://www.tc.gc.ca/publications/en/tp14454/pdf/hr/tp14454e.pdf

    Flight Test Guide- Powered Para-Glider:
    http://www.tc.gc.ca/publications/en/tp15031/pdf/hr/tp15031e.pdf

The up-to-date Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) can be found here:
    http://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/acts-regulations/regulations-sor96-433.htm

If you want to download a pdf copy of the CARs you can do it from the Justice website:
    http://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/SOR-96-433/index.html

    Good luck in your endeavors!
